Blog Hop and Giveaway Finale

The blog hop is now closed. Journi (New Journeys 2) is the winner of the DVD from my segment of the blog hop. wlstarn won the four fat quarters from her comment on Deborah Boschert's blog. Thanks to everyone for participating!!!

Thanks to everyone for joining us on the blog hop, and special thanks to my four talented friends for helping out! Candy, Sarah, Deborah, and Susan will be forwarding the emails of the first four DVD winners to me, and I'll contact the winners and mail the DVD's out as soon as I've received their addresses.

But wait, there's still 2 more chances to win! Leave a comment on today's post before Friday, January 31, for a final opportunity to win a copy of my new DVD, Digital Surface Design: Simple Techniques for Hand-dyed Fabric Effects and More. Let me know what type of project you'd like to create using fabric you've designed yourself. Also, be sure and leave a way for me to contact you if you win.

I will also select a winner of the four fat quarters of fabric on January 31. The winner will be selected from all the commenters on the hop, with the exception of the 5 DVD winners.

In the meantime, here are a few more examples of fabrics I've designed using the techniques in the DVD:
See how different these two fabrics look when all I changed was the colors?

I hope you've been inspired as we've traveled to my friends' blogs - whether it's from a technique that one of them uses, or to try some experimentation of your own with digital design. Stay tuned to find out who our winners are ...

Your fabrics are lovely. I am seeking inspiration for a large wall hanging.

I have been having great fun experimenting with hand dying( shibori mostly) painting and screen printing (leaves mostly), and and would like to combine things from my stock of photographs. I am not use to photo shop but would love to learn to combine my photographs with my dying/painting methods. Uneasy about the process. I keep looking at your book and thinking, someday.

I have enjoyed the blogs and wish in the future to make a jacket of fabrics I have designed myself. The process you teach would make it very special. Maybe a goal for 2015 since I have filled this year to the brim with deadlines already. Thanks Diane for your creativity. You rock.

I have used shibori techniques in dyeing fabrics but mostly have just painted my fabrics for use in my quilting. Your fabrics look fabulous and are an inspiration for those of us who are trying to push the limits of traditional quilting and piecing.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Right now, I am pushing my limits by working in a series with a circle theme. So I'd used my own fabrics for these projects. I am particularly drawn to shibori style pieces. Thanks for this blog hop. I have enjoyed every stop.

Thank you so much Diane for the chance to win one of your new DVD'S! It's been fun and inspirational to visit everyone's blogs! Being a photographer I have been looking to see what other ways I could utilize my photos in a completely different way. As I searched the Internet for information and inspiration, your name kept coming up about this new DVD for digital surface design! Well, needless to say...I LOVE your photo digital design creations! I have no clue how to even start creating printed fabrics from photos! So, that has lead me here to your blog and, now, to this generous opportunity to learn from you!
I would love to make my own pillows for my bright red sofa and I'm sure there will be so many more things created as I learn more from your DVD! Thank you, again, for this fantastic opportunity to win your new Digital Surface Design DVD! ~Journi

It's been great to see what various artists do on their blogs, and to see what further info and photos you post about them on your blog, Diane. I have a number of photos that I would like to work into my quilts, and as I like to work in abstracts, there are many ways your DVD would enhance my quilt-making. Thanks for this opportunity. salt_n_peppr@hotmail.com

I would love to create a quilt of a picture I took of my daughters when they were young playing on a playground. I think it would be perfect for this type of design.

Go! Go, Diane! I saw an announcement of your new book recently, too. Great work, woman! :)

I have been apprehensive about trying these new techniques, as I am mostly a free motion machine embroiderer (think thread painting to the nth degree). I have been away from working with fabric for far too long and need something like this to get me back to it. I am absolutely in love with your work and would like to learn your techniques to create my own style. Thanks for the opportunity!

I'm just getting started digitally altering my own photos with iPad apps and am ready to move to the computer and PE. My goal is to print, or have professionally printed, my own fabric designs to use in my mixed media work.

Gorgeous fabrics! I would love to make some for an art quilt--assuming I could bear to cut into them!

I have been looking into mixed media art quilts and I would love to learn your technics and then incorporate them into quilts. Thank you so much for the chance to win your DVD and the fat quarters!!

Diane: Thanks so much for facilitating this blog hop - it was great to explore the work of the other artists. I have a long list of things I would like to try as a result of learning your techniques, but will start with a manageable project like cushion covers to use on our new veranda.

I want to play with my collection of bird photos, see my blog amysetcetera.blogspot.com to see what I did without you. I am sure your DVD would take these photos to a new level. AMY vetter@mcsi.net

I have been so blown away by that wonderful grackle, that when I realized from your blog hop that you were the creator, I knew I had to learn what you teach. Spoonflower had a free swatch offer last week, and it was the perfect opportunity to see how computer creation of fabric actually looks. I have no idea yet what I would create from your dvd but it will certainly be quilt related, be very fine and very fun. If I am not a winner in your giveaway, your dvd and photoshop elements and spoonflower are now on my list of new skills I need to, must, will master.

Love your fabric! If I don't win, your dvd is on my list too. Thanks.

It looks like this dvd would help me build the skills I am missing to use my many landscape photos to create interesting backgrounds for designs. Susan G in MD

I would love to win your DVD and I would like to create wall hangings using your techniques!

I definitely need to download your DVD -- I have an unnatural phobia of Photoshop for anything beyond cropping and managing photo exposure. I think it would be great fun to create new fabric that my teenage daughter and I could use to redecorate her room.

Love all the colors! I would make a wallhanging, if I designed some fabric. Or a quilt. Or both. :)
