to try and get my work space organized, I (literally) stumbled upon this madding crowd
As you can see, the lights are back on, but my territory has been invaded! I took one kid to cub scouts, and when I came back this scene (which is a very common one here at chez OOhPC!) had appeared. In a way I'm quite happy about this. I was concerned that once I moved my sewing machine back to the basement, the kids wouldn't hang out down there. Obviously - not a problem now that there's light! Though there have definitely been down sides to sewing in the main living area, I really loved being in the middle of everything and being available at a moment's notice. It looks like I won't be lonely in the basement either.

i love how they're all converging on something! once, at my office in Philly, I saw a mouse in the hall disappear in a hold at the baseboard. Suddenly everyone brought out the random toys, dolls, etc., from their office and arranged them similarly--to scare the mouse from coming back. We left the "assembly" in the hall for WEEKS. :)
this is hysterical...so cleaver, colorful and well. . . creative.
oh...cute too :-)
blessings...lylah
What a familiar scene. Watch out because plastic dinosaurs rate right up there with Legos when it comes to the pain they inflict upon the contact with the underside of the foot. And don't worry -- there is no where the kids wont find you.
They're all heading in the same direction? To your kitchen, maybe? Did you bake brownies, and the dinosaurs are attracted by the smell?
you can try to establish a personal space to work in, but for quite a while you are the center of their world. They will slowly but surely drag their world back into yours. Now that my teenagers spend time in their own room Ireally miss that. Pat
